Understanding What’s Happening Between You
Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples
Even couples who love each other can get caught in patterns that leave both people feeling hurt, frustrated, or alone.
As a couples therapist, I’m interested in understanding what happens between you when things go wrong—what each of you does, what you’re reacting to, and what may be happening underneath those reactions.
Relationships are different. When two people are caught in a pattern together, it can be difficult to see what’s happening from inside of it. Sometimes having someone else help you slow things down and understand the pattern can make a difference.
A Little About How I Work
My work as a therapist is shaped by my training, but also by my own life experiences—including cancer, divorce, remarriage, life in a blended family, and parenting. I bring all of that with me, along with curiosity, warmth, and a healthy sense of humor. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist. I listen closely, ask a lot of questions, and try to understand not just what’s happening, but what’s underneath it.
In-Person and Online Therapy
My office is located in south Minneapolis at 48th Street and Chicago Avenue. Can't make it into the office? I also offer secure, HIPAA-compliant online therapy for clients throughout Minnesota and Iowa.
